Who are We?

Jackbox is a small game studio (~80 people) best known for our Jackbox Party Pack franchise: a set of five social party games released every fall. Since 2014, our games--like Quiplash, Drawful, and Trivia Murder Party-- have been featured on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, by Polygon, and in living rooms and finished basements across the world.

In 2020, we had over 200 million users. And we have hard evidence that one of those users was Academy Award-winner Charlize Theron.

What’s the Job?

Jackbox Games is seeking a part-time Marketing Content Contractor to support the creation of content for our TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube pages as well as supporting our blog and email content by providing periodic copywriting support. Our main goal is to engage our existing audiences and draw in new ones, with a secondary goal of encouraging followers to consider purchasing party games from our vast catalog.

The Marketing Content Contractor should have a solid understanding of the types of content that our target audiences engage with on these platforms. From our audience data, we know that we are primarily reaching Gen Z and Millennials but we also have younger fans in our community. 

We are hoping this Content Contractor can start as soon as Monday, September 22nd and work through Monday, December 22nd, 2025. 

Responsibilities of the Marketing Content Contractor:

Create trending/meme content for Jackbox

• Identify current TikTok,YT short, and IG reels video and meme trends
• Brainstorm ways that Jackbox Games could use these trends to create content
• Run content ideas by Senior Marketing Manager and/or Marketing Editorial Lead
• Once approved, create this content
• Seek approval and incorporate notes before posting

Create original content for Jackbox

• Film live-action content with self and friends playing Jackbox party games
• Film and screen record gameplay content
• Piece these together, along with any graphics and music from the Jackbox creative library to make engaging and original content that can be promoted as an ad
• Film other pieces of live-action content, drawing on the experience of playing Jackbox party games, hosting game nights, etc.
• Work with the team to understand advertising guidelines

Sourcing content from other creators

• Look through content on social media, Twitch, and YouTube to find funny Jackbox content created by other users
• When brand-safe, comment on their posts
• Identify video clips, image, and text-based content that could be shared on Jackbox social channels
• Send a message to creators asking permission to share this content on Jackbox social channels with credit to the creator

Provide copywriting support

• Create drafts of blogs or social media posts based on guidelines provided by our team 

The ideal candidate:

• Can work at least 25 hours a week through mid December
• Has a working knowledge of video editing tools (whether in-app on TikTok or CapCut, or desktop-based like Adobe Premiere)
• Is comfortable pitching unique ideas
• Has a great sense of humor that aligns with the voice on Jackbox Games’ social media channels, and can identify current memes and trends
• Is comfortable filming themselves speaking to camera
• Can coordinate occasional game nights with friends to film content for live-action ads (we can provide a DoorDash credit to feed participants)
• Has a strong understanding of punctuation and grammar
• Can write content that fits the Jackbox Games tone 
• Likes Jackbox Games!

• Submit a cover letter that highlights any video content that you have produced in the past and the most successful social media campaign you have ideated and executed on. We take cover letters seriously (yep, we actually read them), so it’s your chance to show us your content creation skills.
